St. Petersburg Precision Alloy Plant successfully completed the process of merging five research laboratories into the Central Factory Laboratory (TSL) and certified it. This was a significant step in developing and improving the quality control system at the enterprise.

  • Compliance with legal requirements. The laboratory complies with legal requirements in the field of ensuring the uniformity of measurements, technical regulation and safety.

During the certification, it was assessed whether the TSL met these criteria, after which certificates were issued confirming its competence and the right to conduct measurements in specific areas.

Reorganization of the structure

At the PZPS, the TSL includes five testing laboratories:

  • X-ray spectral laboratory. Analyzes chemical composition steels and alloys using X-ray fluorescence and atomic emission methods.
  • Mechanical laboratory. Determines the main mechanical characteristics of materials: strength, hardness and elasticity.
  • Metallographic laboratory. It controls the macro- and microstructure of materials using optical microscopes of reflected light.
  • Physical laboratory. Determines the main physical characteristics of materials: coercive force, magnetic induction, magnetic permeability, specific losses, electrical resistance and linear thermal expansion coefficient.
  • Laboratory of linear-angle measurements. It controls the surface quality and flatness of the tape by measuring roughness and sickle shape.

TSL not only controls the quality of its products, but also provides services in the field of analyzing the chemical composition, micro- and macrostructures of materials, determining the mechanical properties and physical characteristics of steels and alloys.
