Inspectors of the Technical Control Department (OTK) were trained at the PZPS

PZPS continues to improve the product quality assurance system. As part of the training program, technical control department (OTK) inspectors were trained on the basis of their own training and methodological center. The program was aimed at deepening the professional knowledge and practical skills of specialists, which directly contributes to strengthening the company's position in the market for precision alloys and special steels.

What does the Technical Control Department do

The quality control department at a metallurgical enterprise is directly involved in ensuring the quality of its products. The main tasks of the department are:

  • Verification of raw materials and materials supplied to the enterprise for compliance with established standards. Inspectors analyze chemical composition, mechanical properties and other characteristics.
  • Monitoring compliance with technological parameters of production processes: smelting, forging, rolling, heat treatment. They use visual inspection, spectrometry, X-ray fluorescence analysis and other modern methods.
  • Finished product testing for compliance with GOST, specifications, standards and customer requirements. Depending on the purpose and characteristics of rolled metal, mechanical, physical, corrosion and other tests are carried out.
  • Documenting the results of quality inspections — maintaining protocols, acts and reports that allow you to track product history and analyze quality trends.

The effective work of the Quality Management Committee reduces the likelihood of defects, minimizes costs and helps to produce products that fully meet current standards and customer requirements.

Training program for quality control inspectors at the PZPS training and methodological center

During the training course, quality control inspectors deepened their knowledge in the following key areas:

  • Types of rolled metal defects — employees studied the causes of cracks, pores, deformations, residual stresses, foreign matter and other product inconsistencies with specified requirements. We got acquainted with methods for their identification and classification.
  • Methods and types of quality control — studied in theory and learned how to apply in practice methods of visual, measuring, ultrasonic, magnetic and capillary testing.
  • Metallurgical terminology — studied basic terms and concepts in the field of materials science and metallurgy to improve the level of professional communication between controllers and production units.
  • Quality Management System (QMS) PZPS — got acquainted with the principles and mechanisms of work SMK, documentation rules, product requirements and control procedures.

The training program was aimed at improving the competencies of inspectors, which allowed them to perform tasks more effectively and contribute to the production of high-quality materials.

The role of quality control in the PZPS quality system

High product quality is one of the key principles of the St. Petersburg Precision Alloy Plant. The company strives to produce rolled metal products that fully comply with established domestic and international standards and customer expectations. In this process, the Technical Control Department performs the following functions:

  • Ensures product quality, which is an important factor for maintaining the company's reputation and meeting customer needs.
  • Verifies compliance with standards and regulations, which makes it possible to ensure that products comply with established requirements, improve the safety and reliability of using manufactured semi-finished products.
  • Prevents defects and minimizes the amount of defective metal products, helps reduce financial risks and reduce the cost of repairing defects.

To achieve high quality manufactured products the plant has implemented a comprehensive control system at all stages of production. Quality Control Department employees carefully check incoming raw materials, materials and finished metal products using modern control methods and the latest laboratory equipment.

High-quality steels and precision alloys produced by PZPS

PZPS produces a wide range of rolled metal products that are used in various industries:

  • Electrical steels (20895, 20880, 20860, 20832, 21895, 21880, 21860, 21832) — materials with high magnetic properties used in the electrical industry.
  • Soft magnetic alloys (49K2FA-VI, 27KH, 50N, 80NM) — used in sensors, transformers and magnetic cores due to their high magnetic permeability.
  • Alloys for elastic elements (40KHNM, 36NHTYU, 17HNGT) — have stable elastic properties over a wide temperature range and are used in high-precision instruments.
  • Corrosion resistant steels (12X18N9, 12X18H10T, 10X17N13M3T) — are characterized by high resistance to corrosion in aggressive environments and are used in the chemical and food industries.
  • Alloys with high electrical resistance (X15YU5, X23U5, X20N80N, X15N60N) — used in heating elements and electrical equipment due to the stability of resistance and high heat resistance.
  • Alloys with a specified TKLR (29NK, 33NK, 36N, 42N) — used in devices that require high dimensional stability when temperature changes.
  • Heat-resistant steels and alloys (HN78T, 20X13) — have high mechanical strength, which makes it possible to use them in the aviation and energy industries.

PZPS employees are constantly improving their skills and knowledge through training and improving qualifications. They study new technologies, standards and requirements to ensure high quality products and meet customer needs.
